Adventures in the 00s

So Morgan and Ashton are writing a blog together? True.
But are we 'together' to write it? False. Thank you, Ohio & Indiana border. (Actually, we are both enjoying our time in the sun down in Florida...yet we are still in different parts of the sunshine state.)
[& speaking of true/false, Ashton took a final a couple weeks ago that was comprised of 65 true/false questions. weird? yes. Did she ace it? Pretty much.]

Ah, so you may wonder...What really makes their lives so interesting & adventurous? Well wonder no more, cause we'd like to tell you about the adventures we partake in. So without further ado, here is how our college education & tuition money is being put to use:

1. Well, obviously we write this blog! & that has provided us with good teamwork, great laughs, a fan following (hopefully), creativity, and occasionally some arguing. We also enjoy reading & looking at other blogs from both friends & strangers. [The friends that blog together, stay together.]
2. We love to have outings to the coffee place on campus...where we drink coffee, get caffeine highs, and make our presence known on campus.
3. We loooove listening to sermons. [Now you must be thinking...these girls are crazy! And yes, you're right. But as we all know..."Normal is boring. Why go through life unnoticed?"] Why do we love listening to sermons & podcasts? First, it's great to hear from Godly men teaching, encouraging, and challenging us from the Word, we enjoy the culturally relative messages, AND a lot of the time we laugh because people like Driscoll & Chandler can be quite witty.
4. We frequently call our mutual friends and have much laughter & good conversation with one other.
5. As you already know if you've read our first post, we have crazy adventures finding movies to watch. And in case you were wondering...Yes, we finally did get to see the move "My Sister's Keeper".
6. We go bowling & eat at Taco Bell.
7. We go to concerts. (Dave Matthews, Handel's Messiah...just to name a couple. ha.)
8. We like to confuse people & make them scared with our friend Peter. He knows all! Just ask us to introduce you to him sometime. Peter knows.
9. Morgan works at the front desk in our dorm, and Ashton is an RA. So on nights when we are both shut-ins and have our duties, we enjoy using walkie talkies to send people on "missions" throughout the campus! This has resulted in gifts being exchanged, walkie talkies being stolen, & many mis-communications.
10. And Finally, in honor of there being 10 points that we have made, we would like to tell you all about the most easy way to have an adventure. Play a little game we like to call '1 Thru 10'. It's just that simple. At any given time, you can say to the people with you a dare you would like someone to perform, and then you choose a number 1-10 and make them guess. If they guess the number you are thinking of then they HAVE to do it. No questions asked. & no cheating or lying...remember it's the integrity of the game! Oh me oh my...this is probably the funniest way to have adventures, such as hugging strangers or yelling silly things in public, etc. etc.

It's funny to think about how much money we spend on things like TV, ipods, movies, music, game systems, books, food, etc. to entertain us. When really, entertainment can be found all around in life's little adventures (p.s. sometimes we try to see just how many times we can actually use the word 'adventure' in our posts). Thats just our little encouragement to get out there & experience life to the full. After all, the greatest adventures end up being the best stories, and we love humorous stories!

What better to end a blog than with a profound quote...'Life is either a daring adventure or nothing' [Helen Keller]. We couldn't have said it (or signed it) better ourselves. :)

Love is a battlefield?

'Love is a many splendid thing. Love lifts us up where we belong. All you need is love!'

All you need is love...or so they claim. But really...the lovey dovey relationships are pushed upon us (Morgan and Ashton in particular) like no other here at Indiana Wesleyan University. While we believe that our friends have the best of intentions, they are futile in their endeavors. Don't get us wrong...we anxiously await for our knights in shinning armor, but we're old fashioned & like to believe that he will just find us. (Cheesy we know, but that's what this blog is all about)

We would like to share with you [the world] our so called pathetic love lives. Let the stories begin!

1. The night was Friday. The event was an Ugly Christmas Sweater party. My job (Morgan, that is) was to create and embellish THE prized 'Love Bench'. This is just highly ironic. According to my "loving" friends, I was the worst possible candidate to be constructing this love seat due to my past non-existent romances. Therefore, they enjoyed taking pictures of me below the mistletoe & underneath the love sign...all ALONE. Good one, guys. ;)

2. To further this cause, I (Morgan again) decided to test my luck with the ever popular "Love Match" application found on Facebook. [Facebook makes the world go round]. My roommates' matches had been a success, so I equally excited to discover my 'future mate'. Imagine my surprise in reading the pop-up message which read, "Application ERROR". (I got a total of 11 'likes' on this one).

3. Have you ever been set-up?? Well this girl has!! [Ashton, that is]. Technically, I haven't yet had a successful match making, but there have been many attempts to set me up. However, my friends have continued to mention all these multiple suitors. Case in point: a "date" is apparently in the works for the new semester.
[Picture on right: Ashton dancing alone at Prom]

Please note: we do not say this to sound pathetic. On the contrary, we are quite content with our singleness. (ALL THE SINGLE LADIES...you know you have the song in your head now. HA) Singleness = we do what we want, WHENEVER we want...our time is our own. All this to say, while some of these occurrences can at times be awkward/embarassing, they ultimately provide us with great stories, memorable moments, and of course ADVENTURES.

So, don't fret if you have no one to snuggle up with this winter season, because that is in FACT why they made snuggies. =)

Life's A Climb...

So have you ever found yourself wishing "Gee, I really want to watch the Hannah Montana movie!" ? Well...we haven't, BUT we ended up watching it anyways.

It all started on a blustery Friday eve, after a fun-filled winter formal event. Little did we know that much adventure was about to be had. After Morgan was crowned the Princess of Shatford, we made our merry little way down to the Marion Lanes bowling alley. We scored some strikes & spares, wore some shoes without socks, and danced illegally in-between the lanes. We wanted desperately to see the Marion Walk of Lights on this beauteous winter night. BUT ALAS, the lights had been terminated!!! So, in our frustration, we decided to dine instead at TACO BELL. & then....we had the most brilliant idea of them all...to watch 'My Sister's Keeper'!!

However, this also turned out to be the most aggravating search for a movie that ever was. I'm pretty sure we went to three different places & searched high and low on campus for this movie that was not to be found. We were convinced that the movie rental industry has some vendetta against us! And to top it all off, all the coffee providers were CLOSED...even the beloved McDonalds (what the crap?!). So, once again, in our frustration we made the rash decision to rent 'Hannah Montana: The Movie'!!! [Jealous, aren't ya?]

Which leads us to NOW. MAblog: MyLifeIsAdventurous. Okay...so this will take some more explaining.
1. MAblog is pronounced as though you were saying mah-blog. Both fun to say and representative of yours truly, Morgan & Ashton.
2. MyLifeIsAdventurous. Forget all that stuff about MyLifeBeingAverage!!! Who wants an average life?! This blog will both highlight the adventure that we have & the adventure that is yet to come.
3. Hannah Montana? Adventure? The Climb? First of all, let it be known that we do not believe Hannah Montana is adventurous. However, she seemed to have an epiphany as she penned the phrase 'Life's a climb, but the view is great.' SO...don't be discouraged. We are here to point out life's many and everyday adventures. So join us on the journey.

Cheesy? Yes. True? Of course.

"Ain't about how fast I get there. Ain't about what's waiting on the other side. It's the climb!"
